User Guide for HDMI Touch Display

2025-10-29

HDMI touch displays, with the advantages of "high-definition display + direct touch control", are widely used in office, teaching, business and other scenarios. The following are the core usage methods to help you get started quickly.

  1. Core features and applicable scenarios

Dual-function integration: HDMI transmits high-definition audio and video, with 10-20-point touch control, supporting 1080P/4K and HDR.

Cross-device compatibility: compatible with computers (Windows/Mac), tablets, and set-top boxes, some models require USB to transmit touch signals.

Scene adaptation: It can be used for conference whiteboard, interactive teaching, inquiry machine, home intelligent control, etc.

  1. Preparation before connection

Interfaces and cables:

Confirm the device’s HDMI interface (2.0+ recommended), and models marked “HDMI-IN (touch synchronization)” are preferred;

Prepare a USB touch cable (USB-B/C, labeled “Touch USB”) with a length of ≤5 meters. An adapter or extension cable needs to be prepared in advance if required.

Drivers and Compatibility:

Windows 10/11 automatically installs drivers for the device, and precise touch requires a dedicated driver from the official website;

Mac needs to confirm that it supports the HID protocol for the device, and some require third-party drivers (such as TouchBase);

Mobile devices need to support HDMI output to connect with it. Android devices require enabling "OTG" and "Touch External Display", and iPads use a dedicated adapter for the connection.

Power supply safety: Use the original power supply for the device. The "touch indicator light" (blue/green) must be on after turning on. In public scenes, check it for anti-scratch and anti-glare functions.

  1. Multi-scene connection steps

  • Computer connection (Windows as an example)

Turn off the computer and the device, connect the HDMI cable to the computer and the device’s "HDMI-IN", and connect the USB touch cable to the device’s "Touch USB" and the computer’s USB;

Turn on the device, select "HDMI" as the input source, then turn on the computer, press "Win+P" and select "Copy/Extend" to match the display;

Touch test: Drag the icon. If there is an offset, calibrate in "Control Panel - Tablet Settings", and adjust the sensitivity in the device’s menu.

  • iPad connection

Use the "Lightning/USB-C to HDMI+USB" adapter to connect the iPad, the device’s HDMI port and "Touch USB" port;

Open "Trust" on the iPad when connecting, call the Control Center to open "Screen Mirroring" and select the device;

If there is no touch response, check the iPad’s "Settings - General - External Devices", or select "iPad Mode" on the device, and use note-taking software to test the writing delay.

  • Set-top box connection

Connect the HDMI cable to the set-top box and the device, connect the USB touch cable to the set-top box’s USB and the device’s "Touch USB", and turn on "USB debugging" on the set-top box;

Turn on the set-top box and the device, select "HDMI" on the device. If it supports touch, it can be operated directly. If incompatible, select "Android set-top box mode" on the device and adjust the touch sampling rate to 120Hz.

  1. Touch optimization

Calibration and anti-interference: For position offset, manually adjust the "X/Y axis offset". When multiple people use it, turn on "anti-interference" and set the recognition distance to 5-10mm.

Professional settings: For drawing/writing, enable "Pressure sensitivity" (1024 levels +). Set custom gestures (such as four-finger swipe back to the desktop) on the device. For high-frame images, enable "Touch and display synchronization" (requires HDMI 2.1+).

Audio and image quality: HDMI audio transmission can be set as the default output. Select "Touch Optimization" for image quality, and turn on "Font Sharpening" for text display.

  1. Solving common problems

Touch failure:

Re-plug the device’s cables, wipe the interface dust, and replace the USB cable if necessary;

Uninstall the old driver of the device and reinstall it. For connected mobile devices, restart and enable "OTG";

If touch control is intermittent, replace the device’s original power supply and connect it to the computer’s rear USB port.

Out of sync:

If the delay exceeds 20ms: reduce the device’s resolution, turn off its "Picture Enhancement", and turn on "Low Latency Mode";

Position offset: Check whether the device’s screen is deformed, recalibrate it, and set it as the "main display".

Public scene use and loss:

Accidental touch: Set the "Touch effective area" on the device, turn on "Accidental touch filtering" (identification >2cm²), and clean it regularly;

Loss prevention: Apply a protective film to the device and do not use sharp objects on it. If there is partial failure, contact after-sales service.

  1. Precautions for use

For cleaning, use a microfiber cloth dipped in clean water and turn off the device’s power first;

Minimize plugging and unplugging the device’s cables, organize and fix the cables to prevent bending;

Avoid placing the device in moist (>80%), high-temperature (>40℃) environments or under direct sunlight. Update its firmware and drivers regularly.

If you encounter special problems with the device, contact the brand customer service and provide its model and the connected device’s system version to obtain targeted solutions.
